Hot Mama’s Buttermilk Pancakes

O-M-G! Breakfast just got a heck of a lot better!

Light, fluffy, and sweet with some heat. This is taking grandma’s recipe to the next level.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 c. milk

  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine milk and vinegar to make buttermilk. Set aside.

  2. Warm skillet over medium heat, or electric griddle to 375ºF.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda. Add egg, butter and buttermilk. Lightly mix together. Mixture should be thick and will look lumpy.

  4. Lightly grease skillet, and drop 1/3 c. of batter on skillet. Lightly spread out pancake batter.

  5. As the batter begins to bubble, check the bottom of the pancake and flip when lightly browned.

  6. Serve with Two Heads Reaper Maple Syrup.

Yield: ~12 pancakes
